Golden Eagle Neutralizers are needed to raise pH. A neutralizer is a closed vessel filled with limestone. The water passes through the neutralizer and dissolves the limestone raising the pH. The blue or green stains are a result of copper plumbing being dissolved by water and re-oxidizing on the fixtures. By raising the pH you will extend the life of the plumbing and prevent the development of leaks.

Golden Eagle Manganese Greensand Filters are used for the removal of iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide. Manganese Greensand is used to filter out ferric hydroxide iron. In some instances where the ferrous bicarbonate (clear) iron is at an elevated level we recommend a small softener be installed after the filter. The water supply must have a neutral pH of 6.8 or greater. Manganese at levels greater than .05 mg/L may produce a brownish black stain in laundry and on fixtures and impart an objectionable order and taste. It is usually found along with iron in soil with a high mineral content. Oxidation followed by a greensand filter is a common method of manganese removal.

REVERSE OSMOSIS
The quality of the water we drink is becoming a daily concern to more and more people. Reverse Osmosis is becoming an increasingly popular selection among homeowners for several reasons. In most cases, R.O.(reverse osmosis) water is equal to or better than most delivered bottle water or the type purchased in supermarkets. R.O. uses a semipermeable membrane and water pressure to force water through the membrane where most of the total dissolved solids (T.D.S.) in the water are rejected and flushed to the drain. R.O. water is always there when you need it right at the kitchen sink through a long reach, stainless steel air gap faucet. Colored faucets to match sink colors are also available at a slight extra charge. R.O. units have pre and post filters which should be changed at least once per year and the membrane as dictated by the water conditions. For homes with refrigerator icemaker, R.O. water can be run to the icemaker. Units are rated at either 14 or 25 gallon per day models and are easy to service.
